W. Thomas Angers, Publisher and President, is a Lafayette Louisiana author, publisher and attorney.  He first became interested in Cajun Cuisine while working for his family's magazine, Acadiana Profile Magazine, a widely-respected regional magazine which focuses on and documents the people, culture and cuisine of south Louisiana's Cajun Country.
A life-long advocate for Louisiana tourism and economic development promotion, he has made a life-long study of Louisiana history and geneology
with particular interest in the states colorful political past.

Mr. Angers published his first book, Cajun Cuisine, in 1985,
during the rise in the popularity of what he calls "nouvelle Cajun cuisine".
He responded to a perception that many people would seek to know
and understand what comprises truly authentic Cajun cuisine.

Beau Bayou Publishing Company was named after the Beau Bayou,
a small south Louisiana river, situated deep in the heart
of Louisiana's Atchafalaya Basin.  It's here that Jean Baptiste Angers
(Tom's great-great-great grandfather) first settled. Through the generations, the family has remained in Louisiana, residing in the heart of Cajun Country,
immersed in this truly unique culture.
